Sons of the American Legion
Full Description:
Friends in The Colony:
I am working with American Legion Post 21 in The Colony to organize a Sons
of The American Legion (S.A.L.) auxiliary, and I am looking to recruit for
men/boys that have had fathers, mothers or grandparents serve in the United
States military (and whose family member's active service would have
qualified them for membership in the American Legion).
We will need at least ten (10) members to start this Auxilliary, and I
currently have five (5) who have expressed interest.
The following is information from the American Legion website:

The Sons of The American Legion
The Sons of The American Legion (S.A.L.) was created in 1932 as an
organization within The American Legion. The S.A.L. is made up of boys and
men of all ages whose parents or grandparents served in the United States
military and became eligible for membership in The American Legion. Go to
http://www.sal.legion.org/ to visit the Sons of the American Legion site.
Membership Benefits
Perhaps the biggest benefit one receives as a member of the Sons is
the satisfaction of knowing you are helping others in your community and
elsewhere. However, there are also some tangible benefits available through
commercial vendors. Sons are eligible for almost all of the same discounts
that are available to members of The American Legion. Just go to
http://www.legion.org/homepage.php to look at a list of many consumer
benefits available to members of The Legion Family.

So, if anyone else is interested in being a part of this organization,
please let me know. I can be reached either by email
(mailto:allen@allenharris.com) or via my home phone (972.625.2580). Our
goal is to have the Sons active and recognized by the Liberty by the Lake
celebration on July 4th. I look forward to hearing from all of you
interested in this wonderful community organization.
